  • Sigma's Annual Philanthropy Events

Each and every fall, Gamma Phi Beta hosts the Eileen Teahan Golf Tournament in honor of Eileen Teahan, a KU Gamma Phi who was killed in a car accident. The proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Kaw Valley Center. Each year the golf tournament gets bigger with everyone from KU basketball stars to our own GPhi dad's participating in it!

In the spring, Gamma Phi hosts the Crescent Classic Pancake Breakfast, which helps bring money to Campfire USA. The girls sell tickets on and off campus, and on the day of, everyone meets on the Gamma Phi front lawn for some delicious breakfast. in 2009, Sigma raised around $2,000 from the Crescent Classic. Pictures from the 2010 event are shown above.

In addition to those two events, the newest pledge class also organizes a charity event to benefit an organization of their choice. Previous events have included a movie shown on the GPhi front lawn and sleeping in boxes on the front porch to raise money for the homeless.
